“Impact” explores several different topics related to our boundless potential to influence the people we are surrounded by. Throughout this series, we will learn about far-reaching mission trips to other countries and close-to-home ventures such as local homeless ministry. We’ll witness how Jesus dealt with interpersonal-related challenges like opposition and skepticism, then ponder how we can apply His example to our own encounters with those who may not share the same spiritual perspective as us.

Learn about our pastor and his family
John, who serves as our Senior Pastor, has been a part of Harvest's senior leadership since 1996. His smile and corny sense of humor is very contagious as you spend time with him. Some Pastor John states, “One of the favorite parts of my week is to meet with new Harvesters one on one. It's an absolute privilege of serving as pastor of this ministry. Hey, I like people, kind of novel for a pastor, don’t you think?”
Pastor John does several Bible book studies each year, allowing the Bible, inspired by the Holy Spirit to drive the message. But he also does some topical studies, drawing from several scriptures that answer daily questions about relationships, stresses, and finding purpose just to name a few. Check out past sermons series to get an idea. He is bold in what he shares (not watered down) but he shares with a heart of grace as he shares his own shortcomings from the stage. The most quoted phrase about pastor is that "he's real"!
Lisa, pastor’s wife, serves as the Women’s Director. So if you make an appointment with pastor (which he would love), chances are high you'll see Lisa as well, as they partner in ministry. “Some people say that working with your wife can be dangerous", states Pastor John, "but so far (20 years) it’s working real well (laughter).” John calls their daughters Rachel (15) and Morgan (13) “Sermon illustrations #1 and #2”. Pastor John, who was the son of a pastor, knows all too well the pressure preacher’s kids are put under by those around them, and he works at removing that pressure from them. I want our kids to enjoy their childhood, so if they don't introduce themselves using their last name, you'll understand why. Read an interview that S.A. Pastor John holds both a degree in Business Administration from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, Belton, Texas in 1983, and a Master’s Degree from SWBTS (seminary) in Fort Worth in 1987. Lisa is a graduate of the University of North Texas in Denton.

When you come, you'll find Pastor John and Lisa standing down front to meet every person personally. They are one of the most personable couples you’ll ever meet. “They don’t rush out the back door after the service, but hang out with us, which is cool” a younger Harvester stated.
